Challenge:
In emerging markets, first-time crypto users face multiple barriers: high device costs limit access to powerful smartphones, while traditional exchange onboarding involves separate app downloads, lengthy KYC flows, and unfamiliar interfaces. These frictions prevent widespread adoption of centralized exchanges and Web3 wallets, especially in regions where a single device may be shared among several family members.
Solution:
By embedding OKX directly into the OS of the JamboPhone and layering on reward-backed "quests" in the JamboApp, Jambo and OKX eliminated onboarding friction at every step. Users simply opened their device, launched the pre-installed OKX app, signed up and passed KYC within the quest flow to obtain a unique OKX UID for verification, and instantly received US $30 in crypto. This seamless, incentive-driven approach enabled rapid, compliant scale—culminating in over a quarter-million new OKX accounts verified through Jambo.
